A great introduction to Australian fauna, children won’t be able to resist patting and touching our tactile Australian Animal board. Intricately engraved with beautifully designed animals that include a tactile insert (approx. 3 cm diameter), imitating each animals fur, feathers or skin.

Individual
Learning through touch, children will love feeling all the animals on this sensory board. Engaging their senses they will learn about textures while opening ip discussions about each animal.
Group Setting
Use to play a game in the group, blind fold a child and get them to run their hands over the board and see if the can guess the animal, let each child have a turn. Talk to the children about what they feel, is it soft, hard, rough, long or short fur. Discuss each animal as they go.
Outdoors
Take the tactile board outside and while touching the animal pieces discuss each animal, talking about where they live, their habitats, eating habits etc. Then see if the children can find their own sensory pieces in nature, rocks, branches, leaves etc and discuss what they feel like.
